Can I take a Red Cross CPR class in Pomona?
Not with us. Our Red Cross classes are taught only at 100 N. Barranca St in West Covina, 9.1 miles west of Pomona on the I-10. The trip runs about 12 minutes outside rush hour, and the Saturday noon class usually misses the worst of the traffic. Pomona organizations with a group can have us teach on their own site instead.
Pomona Unified Child Development or elementary staff?
Pomona Unified runs a Child Development program alongside 23 elementary schools, and roles that put you with young children commonly ask for first aid and CPR that covers kids. The Adult and Pediatric course is built around that: infant, child and adult CPR plus first aid in one class. Your site administrator confirms whether Red Cross is the certificate they want on file.
Working the LA County Fair or another Fairplex event?
Big crowds mean heat, falls and the occasional collapse, and some Fairplex roles ask for first aid. With 2027 fair dates set for May 6 to 31, a spring Saturday class leaves room before onboarding and opening day. Ask your hiring contact which certificate they accept; if it says Red Cross first aid and CPR, this is the class.
On staff at a Pomona community center?
City-run community centers such as Palomares Park on Arrow Hwy are the kind of workplace where someone on every shift should know first aid and CPR. A Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certificate gives that person a credential a supervisor can verify online with its QR code. For a whole center staff, onsite training is usually simpler than sending people one at a time.
Coaching for a Pomona Unified high school?
Under Education Code 35179.1, California high school coaches must hold first aid, CPR and AED certification. A coach at Garey, Ganesha, Park West, Pomona High or Diamond Ranch can cover all three with this class. The same law also deals with concussion and heat illness training, which your athletic director normally assigns separately.
What happens on class day?
You head to the second floor of 100 N. Barranca St, work through first aid scenarios, practise CPR on adult, child and infant manikins, and use an AED trainer while an instructor watches your technique. Once the instructor submits the paperwork, the Red Cross emails a link to your digital certificate, which stays valid for two years.
Bringing the class to a Pomona site
For a school, community center or event operation, onsite usually beats sending people west one at a time. Tell us the headcount and two or three possible dates on the group form; an instructor then brings every manikin and AED trainer and runs the full Red Cross course in a classroom, multipurpose room or break room. Large staffs can be split across back-to-back sessions so the building stays covered.
