Who it is for

Who should take ACLS and BLS together

This combination exists for one reason: most employers want both cards, and both cards expire on their own clock. Taking them together puts them back on the same two-year cycle.

  1. New hires and new grads

Nurses, techs and providers starting a hospital job that requires ACLS and BLS on file before day one.

  2. Anyone whose cards drifted apart

If your BLS expires in three months and your ACLS expires now, resetting both today saves you a separate trip later.

  3. Travelers and per-diem staff

Agency and float-pool providers who need both cards current and dated the same day for a credentialing packet.

What is included

What the combined class includes

Both full AHA courses, taught back to back in one session, with a skills check for each. Nothing is trimmed to fit them in the same day.

  1. Full BLS Provider course

Adult, child and infant CPR, AED use, choking relief, bag-valve-mask ventilation and 2-rescuer team dynamics.

  2. Full ACLS Provider course

Rhythm recognition, ACLS pharmacology, airway management and a megacode you run as team leader.

  3. Two same-day eCards

Pass both skills checks and both official AHA eCards are issued the same day, each valid for 2 years.

How much is ACLS and BLS together in West Covina?

$250 for both courses on the same day. Booked separately at our regular pricing the two courses cost more, so the combination is the cheaper path whenever you genuinely need both cards. The price covers both classes, both skills checks and both official same-day AHA eCards, with no card or processing fees added at checkout.

Can I really finish both in one day?

Yes, and thousands of providers do it exactly this way. Plan on a long afternoon starting at 12:00 PM. BLS is the shorter of the two and runs first, then ACLS takes the rest of the session. You are testing on both, so come rested and eat before you arrive.

Do I need BLS before I can take ACLS?

The AHA expects ACLS students to arrive with current BLS-level skills, which is exactly why this combination is popular. If your BLS card is already current and you only need ACLS, book the standalone course instead and keep the difference.

You can compare both options on our ACLS certification page, or read what the BLS course covers on its own page.

What do I need to do before class?

The AHA requires a precourse self-assessment for the ACLS half. We email the link with your booking confirmation, along with the current algorithms. BLS has no precourse requirement. Bring a photo ID and the self-assessment completion certificate on the day.

Questions

ACLS and BLS questions, answered

Do I get two separate certifications?
Yes. You receive the official AHA ACLS Provider eCard and the official AHA BLS Provider eCard as two distinct certifications, each valid for 2 years.
Are both eCards issued the same day?
Yes. Pass both skills checks and both official AHA eCards are issued the same day, dated the same day, which is what most credentialing offices prefer.
When are these classes offered?
Sundays and Tuesdays at 12:00 PM at our West Covina training site. Because you are completing two courses, this session runs longer than a standalone class.
Is this the initial ACLS course or a renewal?
This booking covers the full ACLS Provider course, so it works whether this is your first ACLS card or a recertification. If you only need to renew ACLS and your BLS is current, the standalone ACLS renewal class is the cheaper option.
Is there a precourse assessment?
Yes, for the ACLS portion. The AHA requires a precourse self-assessment. We send the link with your confirmation email so you can complete it at home before class.
What if I only need PALS as well?
Take a look at the ACLS and PALS class, or the ACLS, PALS and BLS class if you need all three cards. Both are single-day sessions on the same Sunday and Tuesday schedule.
