Who it is for

Who the ACLS renewal class is for

This is the recertification course, not the initial provider course. It moves faster because it assumes you have already worked the algorithms in a real setting.

  1. Nurses and respiratory therapists

ICU, ER, telemetry, PACU and cath lab staff renewing on the two-year cycle their employer tracks.

  2. Physicians, PAs and NPs

Providers who need a current ACLS card on file for hospital privileges, credentialing or a clinical rotation.

  3. Paramedics and advanced EMTs

Field providers who want megacode reps with a live instructor rather than a self-paced online module.

What is included

What the renewal class includes

One price, one session, everything you need to walk out certified. There are no card fees, processing fees or material fees added at checkout.

  1. Rhythm and pharmacology review

A fast pass back through the ECG rhythms and ACLS drugs, aimed at the ones people actually miss on the written exam.

  2. Megacode with a live instructor

You run the code as team leader, get corrected in the moment, and repeat it until the sequence is automatic again.

  3. Written exam and same-day eCard

Complete the exam and your skills check and your official AHA ACLS Provider eCard is issued the same day.

How much does ACLS renewal cost in West Covina?

Our AHA ACLS Provider renewal is $200, all in. That covers the in-person session with an AHA instructor, the rhythm and pharmacology review, your megacode, the written exam, and your official same-day AHA eCard. There are no separate card fees or processing fees added at checkout, and there is no charge to have the eCard reissued if you lose the email.

When are ACLS renewal classes held?

Sundays and Tuesdays at 12:00 PM at our West Covina training site. Those two slots exist because they are the two days that work around hospital scheduling: a Sunday for people working weekday shifts, and a Tuesday for people working weekends. Seats are limited so the megacode stays hands-on rather than a room watching one person work.

What if my ACLS card has already expired?

You can still take the renewal class. The AHA allows a grace period, and in practice most recently expired providers are fine in this course. If your card has been expired for a long stretch, or if you have never held ACLS at all, the initial provider course is the right starting point instead.

Not sure which one you need? Start with our ACLS certification page in West Covina, or call us and we will tell you straight.

Do I have to do anything before class?

Yes, one thing. The American Heart Association requires a precourse self-assessment before ACLS. We email you the link with your booking confirmation, it takes most people well under an hour, and you bring the completion certificate with you. We also send the current AHA algorithms so you can skim them on the way in.

Where is the class and who else trains here?

Providers come to us from across the San Gabriel Valley, including Covina, Baldwin Park, El Monte, La Puente, City of Industry, Hacienda Heights, Pomona and Diamond Bar, and the card is accepted at the area hospitals listed below.

Questions

ACLS Renewal questions, answered

Is this the official American Heart Association ACLS card?
Yes. CPR West Covina is an official AHA Training Site, and you earn the official AHA ACLS Provider eCard. It is valid for 2 years and accepted by hospitals, staffing agencies and credentialing offices nationwide.
How long does the ACLS renewal class take?
Plan on an afternoon. Classes start at 12:00 PM and the renewal course is shorter than the initial provider course because it skips the introductory teaching and goes straight to review, megacode and testing.
Do I get my eCard the same day?
Yes. Once you pass the written exam and your megacode, your official AHA ACLS eCard is issued the same day, so you can forward it to your employer or credentialing office before a deadline.
Do I need a current BLS card to renew ACLS?
ACLS assumes current BLS-level skills, and many employers require both cards on file. If your BLS is also expiring, take the ACLS and BLS class instead and get both cards in one visit.
What should I bring?
A photo ID, your current or most recent ACLS card if you have it, and your precourse self-assessment completion certificate. Wear something you can kneel and compress in.
What is your cancellation policy?
Call us at (626) 605-2067 as far ahead as you can and we will move you to another Sunday or Tuesday class at no charge. Seats are limited, so the earlier you tell us, the easier it is to give your spot to someone waiting.
