Hired for the LA County Fair at Fairplex?

The fair runs at Fairplex on McKinley Ave, with 2027 dates set for May 6 to 31, and it posts seasonal jobs on its own site. If the role you are offered asks for first aid or CPR, getting certified in early spring rather than the week before opening keeps you out of the rush. Ask your supervisor which card they accept; Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED is the AHA course built for that kind of job.

Do Pomona Unified coaches need first aid and CPR?

High school coaches in California do. Education Code 35179.1 calls for certification in CPR, AED use and first aid, including recognizing concussions, heat illness and cardiac arrest. Heartsaver handles the certification part; the concussion and heat illness pieces are often separate free courses your athletic director will point you to.

Is this the right course for a salon or barbershop?

For a general workplace first aid and CPR card, yes. Cosmetology and barbering students at Pomona's Adult and Career Education program on Holt Ave are heading into shops where a client can faint in the chair or a stylist can burn a hand. Heartsaver covers both kinds of emergency.

For classroom, office and coaching roles, Heartsaver. BLS is meant for clinical work such as school nursing, hospital jobs and nursing programs. If your district paperwork names BLS Provider, take that course instead; if it names CPR, first aid and AED, this is it.
