Scheduling PALS around a Pomona intake date

Programs do not ask what our availability looks like, they tell us when the cards have to exist. That is the right way around, so we plan from the deadline. A single cohort of up to roughly 12 students runs in one afternoon. Larger intakes split across two or three sessions in the same week, usually on your campus so nobody loses a half day to driving. If the intake is fixed and tight, say so on the quote form and we will tell you plainly whether the date is reachable before you build a schedule around it.

What cohort PALS costs per student in Pomona

The per-student ladder starts at $250 for one and drops $25 with each student added: $225 at 2, $200 at 3, $175 at 4, $150 at 5, $125 at 6 and $100 at 7. From eight it moves to fixed tiers, $95 per student for 8 to 15, $90 for 16 to 20, $85 for 21 to 25 and $80 for 26 to 30. A 20-student residency intake therefore lands at $90 each. Group BLS runs from a base of $88 per student with a five-student minimum, and Heartsaver CPR AED from a base of $98. Intakes above 30 get a multi-session quote built by hand.

How far is the West Covina classroom from Pomona?

About 15 minutes and roughly 8 miles, west on the 10 freeway to Barranca Street. The training center is at 100 N. Barranca St, Suite #255-B, West Covina, CA 91791, parking is free and on site, and classes run Sundays and Tuesdays at 12:00 PM. We give the real figure rather than calling it close because the classroom is in West Covina, not in Pomona, and a coordinator deciding between a campus session and sending people over deserves the actual drive.

PALS, ACLS and BLS for the same resident

A resident heading into a rotation that covers both adults and children usually needs all three cards, and buying them one at a time is the expensive way to do it. A single PALS seat is $250 with the BLS Provider course included. ACLS runs the same afternoon, and for a cohort the pair prices on the group ladder rather than as two separate bookings. Every card is official AHA, issued the same day, valid two years, and carrying one shared expiration date, which is what turns next cycle into a single calendar entry for the program.

What a program coordinator sends us before class

The American Heart Association requires the PALS precourse self-assessment from every student, so we send that link out with the booking confirmation and students bring the completion sheet. For a cohort we also need a roster: first name, last name, email and role, which is what each AHA card is issued against. We submit the roster to the AHA and return one consolidated list of issued eCards to you rather than leaving 20 students to forward 20 separate confirmations.

Initial PALS or a renewal? Which your Pomona staff needs

Mixed rosters are normal. A clinician holding a current card, or one that lapsed recently, belongs in the renewal course, which skips the introductory teaching and goes to review, scenarios and testing. Someone who has never held PALS, or whose card expired a long stretch ago, belongs in the initial provider course. Both price on the same ladder, so a mixed cohort does not pay a penalty for it.
