Where are CPR classes near Covina?

Coaching at Covina High, Northview or Charter Oak this season?
Under Education Code 35179.1, a California high school coach has to be certified in first aid, CPR and AED use, and one Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED class handles the whole requirement. Ask your athletic director how and when the card gets collected, then pick a session before your first practice.
Is Heartsaver the right card for a school district job?
For most teaching and classified roles that ask for CPR and first aid, Heartsaver is the course people mean, because BLS is built for clinical staff. School nurses and anyone enrolled in a healthcare program are the usual exceptions and are often told to get BLS instead. Covina-Valley and Charter Oak each set their own requirements, so check with Human Resources before you book.
Working at a Covina preschool or daycare?
California licensing for child care centers and family child care homes calls for pediatric first aid and pediatric CPR training. That is a specific course, so ask your director exactly which one they accept before booking this class. We also teach Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid CPR AED on Wednesdays at 6:00 PM and Saturdays at 12:00 PM; call us and we will help you match it to what your director asked for.
How long is a CPR class, and when can I go?
Plan on around three hours for the full First Aid, CPR and AED course. Classes start at 10:00 AM every day and at 6:00 PM every evening except Tuesday, and the Spanish Heartsaver class runs Saturdays at 9:00 AM. It is one visit: you practise, pass the skills check and leave with the card.
Do I need any medical background?
No. Heartsaver is written for people with no healthcare training at all. Most of the session is spent on the floor next to a manikin, working compressions, AED pads and the first aid steps, with an instructor correcting your hands rather than lecturing from a slide.
